***This is a remote position that can be home-based anywhere within the United States.***
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Document drafting, review, and analysis based on recommendations from the Board, senior leadership and industry sources/standards/best practices. (40%)
Manage Board Portal by liaising with internal departments to post Board materials and constantly monitor evergreen files to maintain current versions. (15%)
Manage updating governance documents on intranet/Cancer.org and independently respond to governance-related date requests. (15%)
In-person meeting support, including joint meeting of two Boards. (15%)
Manage combined governance calendar for two Boards and at least 7 Committees of the Boards. (5%)
Monitor Governance Inbox for requests responses. (5%)
Process invoices, expenses and Volunteer Reimbursements. (5%)
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree
Years of experience: 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Strong knowledge of company operations, organizational structure, corporate governance and the company’s Board of Directors.
Strong oral, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise with members of the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership in a professional manner. Must be very detail oriented.
Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently prioritize requests and tasks to ensure timelines are met.
Very strong interpersonal skills.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to create professional correspondence both personally and on behalf of leadership, ability to create and review Board presentations.
Experience with Board Portals preferred.
Willingness to work outside standard established business hours is necessary.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
May have to travel twice yearly.
The starting rate is $81,000 to $95,000 annual. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
