At the American Cancer Society, our employees are the soul of our lifesaving mission to save lives and celebrate life, every single day. Our career opportunities are as diverse as our people and include every discipline found in other business enterprises. What sets us apart is that the work we do has global impact – and every passionate, dedicated American Cancer Society staff member contributes to each groundbreaking achievement we make.
Individually, we are different people performing different actions. Collectively, we are a united force with the power to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer. And it’s working.
Who We Are
What Sets Us Apart
We are as dedicated to our staff as we are to our mission. Part of that dedication includes providing our staff members with competitive benefit options to promote good health, financial security, work life balance, and peace of mind.
At the heart of our commitment to diversity and inclusion is the belief that we can better position ourselves to save lives every day by attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse staff unified in their dedication to the cause of saving lives from cancer.
We seek out and celebrate employees from different cultures, experiences, and geographies, with a variety of styles and viewpoints, to provide greater insight into our programs and services. The greater the diversity of our people, the better we can serve our communities. That is how we define success.
As an American Cancer Society volunteer you can honor a survivor or a loved one lost to cancer, help people in your local community, and join the fight to end cancer. Your unique talents will make a real difference, and you can choose from volunteer positions that match your interests, offer flexible scheduling, and allow you to learn new skills. Join us and discover how rewarding it is to be an American Cancer Society volunteer.
It only takes a little time to do a lot of good. Make a difference today!
We fight cancer. Passionately. Intelligently. Consistently. Ferociously. All of us. Each with our own jobs, skills, and talents doing all we can. We are all activists against cancer. And when we work as one, we charge at cancer from multiple fronts, breaking it down bit by bit with our compassion, our commitment, and our courage, until we stand victorious.
Together, we’re attacking cancer from every angle.

American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network
ACS CAN is the nation's leading cancer advocacy organization. We work to encourage elected officials and candidates to make cancer a top national priority.
Many people know that the American Cancer Society funds cancer research, but they may not know the many different ways that we relentlessly pursue answers to what causes cancer, how it can be prevented, and what the best treatments are.
The National Cancer Information Center (NCIC) is here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to help guide our constituents through their cancer experience. Whether they’ve recently been diagnosed, are currently going through treatment, or are caring for a loved one with cancer, we’re here with information, day-to-day help, and emotional support every step of the way. Services are provided via phone, chat & email in English, Spanish and 200+ languages via a translation service. All jobs supporting NCIC are work from home opportunities.
Our finance team works hard to determine the best use of our valuable financial assets. Each year, the American Cancer Society invests hundreds of millions of dollars to fight cancer on a global scale and has earned the public trust by demonstrating a history of careful and proven financial stewardship.
If you enjoy working with and coaching others, developing and planning fundraising events, and having a variety of day-to-day activities and responsibilities, the American Cancer Society can use your skills to promote our lifesaving work.
A career in our health information and services area allows you to help people in your community by supporting cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones, as well as promoting prevention and education to everyone, worldwide.
Work with people to develop their potential, help them achieve their goals, and guide them along a career path. At the American Cancer Society, our human resources team supports the company by making sure its most valued asset – its staff – are engaged and productive to perform their job to the best of their abilities.
Do you have a passion for technology, including back-end development and front-end design? If you like to work in a fast-paced environment where change is good, ideas are encouraged, and the next success is just around the corner, the American Cancer Society may have a career opportunity for you.
We need creative people with original ideas to help spread our lifesaving message. If you can communicate information so it is eye-catching, compelling, and spurs the viewer to action, the American Cancer Society may have a career opportunity for you.
If you are confident, outgoing, organized, and enjoy networking, you could help the American Cancer Society cultivate relationships with high-level donors and corporate partners in support of our mission to save lives.
