Executive Principal, Campaign Leader

The Campaign leader will coordinate all aspects of the American Cancer Society’s $4 Billion All In Against Cancer fundraising campaign.

This role works in collaboration with the Chief of Organizational Advancement and other leaders, team members, and volunteers to identify prospective donor opportunities and ensure the implementation of timely cultivation and solicitation strategies.

This role is responsible for maintaining the campaign prospect pipeline, plan, and timeline, fundraising progress reports, and goals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and manages the comprehensive campaign strategic plan to diversify, strengthen, and increase the funding base and develop new sources of funding.
  • Manages campaign activities, including cultivation events, focus groups, public outreach activities, committee meetings, and presents regular progress reports to ACS leadership.
  • Liaisons with ACS Philanthropy leadership team to ensure individualized strategy is created for the organization's portfolio of major donors.
  • Coordinates across Development Pillar and Region and Division teams to enable collaboration and buy-in.
  • Provides oversight and design of big bet, mega, cornerstone, and leadership gift plans.
  • Oversees evolution and tailoring of case for support.
  • Monitors and meets strategic and financial benchmark targets.

  • Achievement of capital campaign financial benchmarks.
  • Continuous evolution of campaign strategic plan.
  • Cultivation and maintenance of key relationships, both internal and external.
  • Timely and proactive updates to key stakeholders to ensure stakeholders are aware and engaged.
  • Successful completion of all campaign-related activities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE:     

  • Minimum 5-10 years of demonstrated success in raising funds from organizational and individual donors for a nonprofit organization, including leading Capital Campaigns.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Significant experience in nonprofit fundraising.
  • Demonstrated success raising money from diverse revenue streams, including individuals, corporations and institutional sources.
  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques, finances, and budgeting for nonprofits.
  • Ability to take initiative and maintain good communication with team members, donors, and other stakeholders.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE:        

  • Prior experience successfully leading Capital Campaigns.
