POSITION SUMMARY:

The Buyer II supports daily procurement activities in accordance with ACS policy and performance standards.  This role works cross-functionally to acquire goods and services and ensure they are delivered to the right place at the right time. Responsibilities include managing bids, overseeing supplier relationships and performance, contract execution, order creation and management, and proactive communication. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages internal purchase requests, create and issue purchase orders, and manage order modifications. Track orders to ensure timely delivery and take corrective action when necessary. Additionally, support ad hoc and special projects related to the procurement needs of the business. (25%)
  • Manages the bid process for lower complexity and lower value requirements. Also manage assigned catalogs and supplier relationships, acting as a liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers, resolve issues, negotiate pricing and terms, and build strong relationships. (20%)
  • Interacts with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to ordering, delivery, and other supply chain matters. Maintain high levels of communication with requestors. (20%)
  • Identifies and supports improvements to the end-to-end purchasing process, including supplier onboarding, contracting, requisition, and purchase order management.  (10%)
  • Partners with supply chain team members to analyze purchasing data, identify trends, and assist with spend and category management as assigned. (10%)
  • Supports the implementation of digital tools and processes, as well as related change management initiatives. (15%)

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, prefer concentration in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 3+ years of procurement and sourcing experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience with Coupa or other BSM/Procurement platforms.
  • Experience conducting RFPs and/or RFQs
  • Experienced with negotiations and contract processes
  • Proficient in procurement/supply chain industry-specific terminology and practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Formal knowledge of sourcing processes, including competitive bidding and supplier qualification.
  • Experience purchasing from suppliers.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and report statistical data.
  • Basic understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to make sound administrative and procedural decisions.
  • Effective teamwork and independent work capabilities.
  • Excellent accuracy and speed of data entry.
  • Strong customer service interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-up abilities.
  • Nimble learner.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel when necessary

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 
  • No, or very limited physical effort is required.  
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk. 

The salary for this position is $62,600. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
