As part of the senior leadership team for the OCDMCO, work closely with CDMCO, colleagues within OCDMCO and business lines, regional staff, senior leadership, professional staff and volunteers and regional development related staff to develop and implement a development strategy for the organization that is compatible with enterprise-wide priorities. This includes; planned giving engagement in campaign planning, structure, discipline and implementation for planned giving and relevant spaces, including expectancies, probate, real estate, donor advised funds and inclusive of development resources and alignment.
Align between the mission departments and development related teams across the organization to include seamless incorporation of planned giving and supporting the development strategy.
Plans, coordinates and assures implementation of strategies to develop/engage planned giving donors and beyond and investments to support and drive growth for the organization. Assures development and maintenance of appropriate systems through development resources, including but not limited to leadership, board, volunteer and donor management, research and cultivation, gift processing and recognition. Maintains accountability and compliance standards for donors and funding sources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Managea regional planned giving team that includesRegional. Vice Presidents,Planned Giving Directors and a Regional Specialist. Give proper guidance to this team’s performance. Support/Build a team of professional staff,establishingand implementing a strategic agenda, administering the initiative office and budget with a focus on department goals, global priorities, roll-up fundraising goal, and portfolio development of the staff under management.- 30%
Provide leadership,managementand direction for executive reporting via and per the direction of the CDMCO to the SLT and Board related to the complete function and overall proforma of the planned giving product line that supports the organization strategy and the overall strategic direction,alignmentand integration of the business line. - 20%
Assure proper planning, including goal setting, strategy identification,benchmarkingand evaluation to support Planned Giving and Probate & Trust Management, sound fiscal operationof development function, includingtimely,accurateand comprehensive development of charitable contributions, income and expense budgets, reporting,monitoringand implementation– 20%
Oversees all aspects of Planned Giving operations, including gift processing (in concert with Shared Services), prospect and donor histories, and fundraising reporting, including the probate & trust management process toefficiently and effectively account forone of largest revenue sources at ACS. Work with both our internal and external partners toascertainthat all estate gifts aretimelyaccounted for and collected.- 10%
Keep informed of both planned giving and general developments and innovation in philanthropy as well as the general fields of management and the not-for-profit sector; including board(s) on current trends, issues,problemsand activitiesin order tofacilitatepolicy making related to plannedgiving, gift acceptanceetc. Recommends policy positions concerning planned giving and acceptance of planned gifts and restrictions related to development– 10%
Work collaboratively with Principal Partnerships, Regional Major Gifts and other team members which has anenterprise widevision for the global American Cancer Society– 10%
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required:Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Degree:Master's Degree
Certificate(s) or License(s): CAP, CSPG, CFRE
Years of experience: Minimum 15 years fundraising experience in a professional leadership position

The starting rate is $220,000 to $240,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
