The Media Video Editor will support and/or be responsible for post-production social media videos for the American Cancer Society. They will play an integral role in organic and paid social media videos and is a social media native who will be a creative force to quick-turn video storytelling. We are looking for a storyteller who can craft videos and envision how it can attract and retain audiences by each social media platform.

This role will be successful by editing brand relevance video content to support the demands of the social media landscape.

2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primarily edits short-form videos with occasional requests for long-form videos.
  • Edits quick-turn videos – for use across key social channels in alignment with brand and platform best practices.
  • Helps organize footage and track edits to ensure timely delivery of final files.
  • Supports the long-term video planning and editing of our brand storytelling efforts across our social media channels.
  • Supports the Director of Media Content Strategy and Content Strategist on video editing needs.
  • Helps coordinate external agency and internal resources to ensure video editing projects run smoothly and efficiently.

3. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE:      

Bachelor’s degree. 

1-3 years video editing experience

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE:

  • Deep understanding of the social paid media space.
  • Strong video editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite tools
  • Some animation skills
  • Creative thinker
  • Attention to detail
