The candidate is passionate about diversity and believes that diversity and inclusion are critical to the Society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The primary focus of this role is to perform all tasks and duties associated with the coordination of activities for key diversity and inclusion initiatives across the enterprise as well as provide administrative and logistical support to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team. Provides resource and tool management, production delivery, logistical coordination to team members.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interaction with all Enterprise departments and functions to support coordination efforts.
  • Enable process efficiencies for execution of diversity, equity and inclusion strategies through successful forecast, planning and management of details and actions in a timely manner.
  • Support the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team with the cultivation and management of external collaborations in diverse sectors including managing logistics for conference activations and regional meetings.
  • Collaborate within Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team to develop reports and communication activities to promote ACS diversity activities externally, as well as internally (including website, intranet, and annual reports).
  • Assists with the production of diversity learnings, collateral materials, and resources.
  • Responsible for ordering materials for external collaborations/product management – receiving material at office, maintain inventory levels and distribution to external partners and ACS staff.
  • Pulls reports as needed to support team efforts including Salesforce reports, follows up as needed on data quality or content concerns; compiles and summarizes data to meet specific account management needs.
  • Ensures batch headers and diverse volunteer profiles are reflected in Salesforce for accurate data capture.
  • Schedule partnership calls and Employee Engagement Group (EEG) monthly calls. Prepare meeting materials (pre-work, research, and presentations) as well as follow up communications.
  • Research and collect data related to diversity and inclusion from internal and external sources (labor/work force data, demographic, educational, socio-economic trend data, etc).

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE:     

  • Associate's degree is preferred or a combination of education and work experience; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Successful experience working with teams in the areas of diversity and inclusion, account management and program implementation.

Other Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Comfortable learning new software.
  • Strong diversity and cultural competence knowledge and orientation (gender, race/ethnicity, LGBT, disabilities, generations, etc.).
  • Must be excellent at multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and clearly in written and oral communications.
  • Ability to work proficiently and productively in a team environment to meet department goals and complete assignments on schedule.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work setting using technology based programs and platforms
  • Ability to organize calendar activities, manage deliverables based on calendar, and coordinate around established deadlines.
  • Ability to recognize and handle confidential documents and information professionally and in keeping with business unit practices.
  • Processes department expenses for payment, including vendor invoices.
  • Responsible for filing, coding and posting.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Word processing and/or data entry skills.
  • Strong organizational and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Skill in the use of basic office equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Problem solver with ability to organize multiple priorities, tasks, and requests.

The starting rate is $24 to $29 hourly. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
