Executive Relationship Manager, Patient Support

The Associate Chief of Staff will assist the Chief of Staff, Patient Support in supporting the Chief Patient Officer (CPO) and the Patient Support Pillar. This role will oversee and manage all external relationships critical to the CPO and to Patient Support’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The Associate Chief of Staff will liaise with the Office of the CEO, Development team leadership, and other internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be able to ensure that the CPO is well prepared for each day for all external meetings and capturing after action items for Patient Support team members. In addition to all-encompassing support of the CPO, this is a highly collaborative role in which the ideal Associate Chief of Staff will assist in the strategy of Patient Support’s external relationships and provide guidance to the Patient Support Pillar on prioritization of relationships and ensuring action items are met.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of external relationships critical to the CPO and Patient Support.

  • Organize those external relationships to ensure all are kept current and external leaders are satisfied with Patient Support’s timely, accurate, and robust communications.

  • Assist the Office of the CPO in planning upcoming external meetings for the CPO and strategize around the timing, topics, and participants of the meeting.

  • Facilitating the information gathering from Patient Support and across the ACS (American Cancer Society) Enterprise to ensure that the CPO is fully prepared for the conversation prior to the meeting.

  • Ensure all action items are captured post meeting and distributed to appropriate stakeholders. Archive all information into ACS’ CRM database.

  • Lead all meeting follow-up items and future engagement opportunities.

  • Co-Chair two external advisory councils: Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) and Patient support Advisory Council (PSAC). Strategize the future of both councils to ensure their engagement and growth.

  • Develop written and presentation content for the CSO to include reports and deliverables when necessary.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health administration, public health, or clinical field   

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in external relationship management in for non-profit and/or for-profit settings

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Impeccable interpersonal skills

  • Strong relationship management, project management, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with executive and senior management

  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments

  • An effective, versatile, action-oriented individual with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence across the organization.

  • Strong technology competency with relationship management systems (SalesForce), Microsoft Office 365, and MS Teams

  • Able to operate in a team environment that holds individuals accountable for results

SPECIAL MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

  • Travel required approximately 10% or more

  • No or limited physical effort is required.

  • No or limited exposure to physical risk.

The starting rate is $88,000 to $105,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
