This is a remote, home-based internship. Full time students from all US geographies will be considered.

Our 2024 Fall internship program is a Paid Internship that runs from September to December at approximately 17.5 hours/week. The program will join interns across the country who are supporting different department focuses at American Cancer Society and ACS's Cancer Action Network. 80% of the time will be in working within the given department, with the Intern's manager, their mentor, and the team. The other 20% will be with a cohort of other interns around American Cancer Society and ACS CAN.

The Intern, Medical Health & Content position will support the external content business unit and report to the Strategic Director. The intern will assist in a comprehensive market assessment designed to inform future enhancements to ACS external content. The assessment will include an in-depth understanding of the current market needs/gaps, external/internal stakeholders feedback and competitors’ content landscape.

• Conduct market research to assess competitors’ products/resources

• External landscape analysis with Development pillar and Patient Support SVPs to identify opportunities for content

• Maintain and integrate findings to the landscape assessment repository

• Support coordination of internal and external stakeholder feedback through a variety of channels, such as interviews, survey, etc.

Desired qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree candidate in Communications or Public Health - Junior or Senior Preferred.

Position Requirements:

• Must be available for entirety of program: September - December at approximately 17.5 hours/week.

• Full-time student, if you are an undergraduate student, you have completed your freshman year of college.

• Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale).

• Plan to continue your education in the following term/semester.

Note: An internship assignment may coincide with your last term/trimester as a full-time student, but the internship must be disengaged upon graduation.

The starting rate is $18 to $20 hourly. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
