Media Planner - Mission Support Media (Digital)

The Media Planner is an individual contributor role responsible for developing and executing media plans to support marketing objectives. This position ensures seamless coordination with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary creative assets, manage pixel/tagging implementation, and oversee the launch of campaigns.

There are two variations of this role, each specializing in distinct media channels:
1. Media Planner – Linear TV & Programmatic Digital: Focuses on traditional TV media planning and digital programmatic buying including CTV.
2. Media Planner – Digital: Specializes in planning and optimizing campaigns across digital channels such as search (Google, Bing), social platforms (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.), and digital programmatic platforms (The Trade Desk, DV360, etc).

Both roles require deep expertise in media planning, a strong understanding of media platforms, and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive effective campaigns.

***This is a remote position that can be home-based anywhere within the United States. This opening will support the Digital, specializing in planning and optimizing campaigns across digital channels such as search, social platforms, and digital programmatic platforms. ***

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

PLATFORM & VENDOR MANAGEMENT (30%)

  • Collaborate with external media partners and vendors to execute campaigns effectively. 

  • Maintain strong relationships with media platforms (Google, Meta, YouTube, programmatic DSPs, TV networks, etc.) to access new opportunities. 

  • Monitor and troubleshoot campaign issues, working with vendors to resolve them efficiently. 

COORDINATION & EXECUTION (30%)

  • Work cross-functionally with creative, analytics, and operations teams to gather assets, ensure tracking implementation, and meet campaign deadlines. 

  • Manage the setup of pixel tracking, tagging, and audience segmentation to ensure proper campaign measurement. 

  • Oversee campaign launches and coordinate adjustments as needed to optimize performance. 

MEDIA PLANNING & STRATEGY (25%)

  • Develop detailed media plans based on marketing objectives, audience insights, and budget considerations. 

  • Research and recommend optimal media placements and budget allocations. 

  • Stay updated on media trends and platform innovations to drive campaign effectiveness. 

PERFORMANCE MONITORING & REPORTING (15%)

  • Track media performance against KPIs and provide insights for campaign optimization. 

  • Work closely with the analytics team to analyze data and refine media strategies. 

  • Provide post-campaign reports with learnings and recommendations for future planning. 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree

  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in marketing, advertising, business or a related field.

  • Years of experience:  3+ years in media planning, with expertise in either Linear TV & Programmatic Digital or Digital.

  • Driver’s License Requirement(s): Required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Attention to detail – Ensures accuracy in media plans, tagging, and campaign execution. 

  • Collaboration – Works effectively across teams to coordinate campaign needs. 

  • Analytical thinking – Interprets data to refine media strategies and optimize performance. 

  • Time management – Manages multiple campaigns and deadlines efficiently. 

  • Adaptability – Stays ahead of media industry changes and platform updates. 

  • Proficiency in media planning tools and platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, DSPs, TV buying tools, etc.). 

  • Experience working with pixel tracking, tagging, and audience segmentation. 

  • Strong communication skills to coordinate across internal and external teams. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires travel by air or car when necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends and some overnights.

  • Work typically performed indoors in a home or office environment.

The starting rate is $63000 to $79000 annual. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
